CPIB Program Objectives
- Challenge yourself in this flexible and specialized university-level designation program (3 mandatory courses and 3 electives) developed for brokers by brokers
- Develop your potential by specializing in Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or Broker Management
- Explore new issues and perspectives through business, analytical, and insurance skills that will be adaptable in a number of environments
- Take all 6 courses to earn your designation, or take individual courses to sharpen your professionalism in a particular area
CPIB Course Descriptions
Prerequisite: CAIB or AIIC/CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional)
CPIB is a prerequisite for IBAA's H.B.Com. and MBA. While not a prerequisite for CCIB, CPIB certainly helps with the exams.
Choose one of 3 CPIB streams: Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or Broker Management. Declare your stream at any point during the course (but ensure your electives and mandatory courses match the stream).
Advanced Commercial Lines (self-study)
This course expands on commercial lines information learned in the CAIB program to prepare brokers for more complex issues that face insurance brokers on a daily basis. Topics focus on underwriting and submissions, assessing liability exposures, employment liability, and risk management (assessing and evaluating various types of commercial property risks, commercial liability risks, equipment breakdown coverages, errors and omissions, environment impairment liability, financial analysis, business interruption, directors and officers liability, contract bonding, employment practices liability, cyber liability, risk management, proposals, presentations, sales, and account management).
