Traditional approaches to family wealth transition planning focus on tactics (e.g., estate freeze and insurance), rather than an overall strategy that involves input from all family members who will be impacted. Advisors largely work in their own silo of expertise with a transactional focus. While estate freeze and insurance strategies are sound (only 3% cause of breakdown), they do not develop positive family communication and enhance trust. This workshop will explore a new approach to achieving successful family wealth transitions through a case study and interactive dialogue.
