Elections

We have 5 candidates for 4 director positions. Voting will take place via electronic ballot during the AGM.
  • Candidates for President Elect (one-year term): Jody Lohr, Lundgren & Young, Calgary
  • Candidates for Vice President (one-year term): Barry Haggis, Young & Haggis Insurance, Calgary
  • Candidates for Directors (4 two-year term positions):
    1. Jonathan Brown, Peters Insurance Agencies (2004), Edmonton
    2. Shaun Driscoll, Sharp Insurance, Calgary
    3. Sheroo Hyder, Link Insurance Agency, Calgary
    4. Caleb Maksymchuk, Ravenhill Agencies, Edmonton
    5. Ken Young, Access Insurance Group, Red Deer

Duties of Directors as Drawn from the IBAA Bylaws

  • Perform duties directed by the IBAA board
  • Set IBAA policies and oversee the IBAA Bylaws
  • Create the IBAA strategic plan and measure its success annually
  • Approve the operating budget and the IBAA audited financial statements for presentation at the IBAA AGM
  • Create ad-hoc committees as required to pursue IBAA objectives.

Other Duties

  • Meet with a minimum of 4 brokerages each year, including at least 1 that is not an IBAA member brokerage
  • Attend board meetings and actively participate in all committees they are a part of
  • Participate in all IBAA government-relations activities
  • Submit a written report outlining their IBAA activities and meetings to the board prior to each board meeting
  • Represent members' regional and provincial interests.
