CPIB Program Objectives

  • Develop your potential by specializing in Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or Broker Management
  • Explore new issues and perspectives through business, analytical, and insurance skills that will be adaptable in a number of environments
  • Take all 6 courses to earn your designation, or take individual courses to sharpen your professionalism in a particular area

CPIB Course Descriptions

Prerequisite: CAIB or AIIC/CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional)
CPIB or CAIB is a prerequisite for IBAA's BBA and MBA. While not a prerequisite for CCIB, CPIB certainly helps with the exams.

Choose one of 3 CPIB streams: Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or Broker Management. Declare your stream at any point during the course (but ensure your electives and mandatory courses match the stream).


Advanced Personal Lines (self-study)

*20 CE credits for General and Adjuster licences

This course expands on personal lines information learned in CAIB 1 to prepare brokers for more complex issues that face insurance brokers on a daily basis. Chapters include case studies and study questions throughout, begin with objectives, and end with review questions and summaries.
