Embargoed - Alberta's Top 10 Stolen Vehicles

December 18, 2018

Gone in 60 Seconds: Canada's Top 10 Stolen Vehicles

The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) released its annual list of most stolen vehicles. In Alberta, once again Ford’s F250s and F350s dominate the list. Nationally, Ford F350 trucks hold the top five spots.

Vehicle theft in Alberta is up 6% from 2017.

New Year's Day is the most common time for vehicles to be stolen.

Keep a close watch over your vehicles, your identification left within the vehicle (used for identity theft), and the gifts you are transporting. In 2017, more than 17,500 incidents of identity theft were reported.

Be aware that stolen vehicles may be sold to consumers who don't know they are buying a stolen car, or that it may have been scrapped for parts or used to commit another crime.
