Alberta Insurance Brokers Offer Proposal to Repair Alberta Auto Insurance

The Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta (IBAA) has provided Alberta’s Auto Advisory Committee (AAAC) with a list of 20 recommendations aimed at providing Alberta consumers with a much fairer auto system and combatting the rising costs of automobile insurance in Alberta.

The paper advocates for changes that will ensure injured parties receive immediate medical care focused on early treatment. It recommends that damage repairs be done without regard for fault, removing unnecessary recovery expenses and passing those savings on to the Alberta consumer. The paper also calls for modification to legislation and regulation designed to create a healthier and more consumer-focused auto insurance system by addressing some of the root causes of increased insurance costs.
