IBAA Government and Industry Advocacy
Share |

gears of industry relations

IBAA was founded to provide advocacy for the best interests of insurance brokers and consumers through relationships with representatives from the Government of Canada, the Government of Alberta, the insurance industry, and insurance regulators. This liaison is accomplished by maintaining an open and productive relationship with our regulators, industry partners, and Insurance Brokers Association of Canada.

IBAA regularly issues news updates and reports related to auto, property, and liability insurance, as well as to technology, legislation, regulation, and the socio-economic contributions of brokers in local communities, Alberta, and Canada.

What Insurance Brokers Contribute to the Albertan and Canadian Economies

In October 2018, Deloitte was engaged by Insurance Brokers Association (IBAC) to conduct a study of the socio-economic contributions generated by member brokerages to the provincial and national economies. See the "Insurance Brokers Association of Canada Economic Contribution Study" (linked below) that IBAC produced from the results.
