Course Description

  • Learn how risk management fits into organizational structures
  • Examine options that make risk management a flexible process adapting to a wide range of settings
  • Losses, loss exposures, and risk management

  • The five steps in the risk management process: identifying and analyzing loss exposures and their financial costs; alternative risk control techniques; and selecting, implementing, and monitoring the chosen technique.
  • Insurance brokers as risk managers in organizations
  • The importance of adjusting and improving the risk management program
  • The relationship of the risk manager to the organization's pre-and post-loss objectives, culture, and risks
Course Design
Realistic case studies cover a wide range of applications—risk management on the road, at the office, in actions, and at work.

Self-Study: The textbook facilitates self-testing, as the chapters begin with objectives and conclude with review questions and exercises.
