Licensing Level 3 Course Description

Become the Designated Representative of a brokerage. Prepare for the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) Licensing Level 3 General exam with this self-study course.

  • Ethics and Professionalism (insurance and employment regulations and legislation)
  • Industry Knowledge (organizations, functions of insurance, roles in insurance, market trends, and types of insurance and reinsurance)
  • Risk Management (managing risk for brokerages and clients)
  • Brokerage Management (brokerage-insurance company relations, marketing, sales, organizational structures, planning, development, finance, operations, broker management system, perpetuation and succession, and purchasing or selling a brokerage)

Self-Study Options

This course is currently available year-round only through self-study with two options:

  • Standard Level 3 Course Registration includes the CAIB 4 textbook and IBAA's Licensing Level 3 Supplement.

    Member $325 / Non-Member $500 (prices include shipping and GST)

  • Limited Level 3 Course Registration is for those who have taken CAIB 4 through IBAA or one of its sister associations and do not want another CAIB 4 textbook. Registration includes ONLY IBAA's Licensing Level 3 Supplement. The supplement is not comprehensive and includes cross references to the CAIB 4 textbook (most of the material on brokerage management and other details). Registration is subject to IBAA approval.
